So it’s been over a month since we last posted which only eludes to one thing: We’ve been busy as FUCK. 😉 For those of you who don’t follow us on social media, we took the studio with us and spent a week locked away in an amazing house surrounded by the ocean in Mattituck, NY to begin tracking our sophomore record. We left at the end of the week with about 3 full songs musically and a ton of pre-pro vocals tracked. It’s ridiculously hard not to drop any audio hints at any of these news sounds because evolution is an understatement. HOWEVER, you WILL get to hear a taste of the direction we are going on the Midnight Remixed EP we are about to release. This 5-song EP is remixing tracks from our debut original record “Midnight Insight”. 4 of the remixes will come from other artists, but one will be from us and that is where you will hear the evolution of our sound that has taken place over the last year.

We expect to have this remix EP ready for release within a couple weeks but to tide you over until then, we present to you one of the tracks; a monster dubstep remix of our track “Above the Surface” by Play Me Records’ and Boston’s own TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair). As promised, we’re releasing our newest vocal remix of Wolfgang Gartner’s track There & Back which we’ve titled “Safest Bet” and we couldn’t be more excited about how this one turned out! The release of this track also signifies the completion of the first volume of our “Versus” mixtapes! Although we had been running with a working title of “Mixtape Insight” previously, we’ve now landed on the simple yet perfectly explicative “Versus” instead. So, Versus Vol. I is a 5 track EP of vocal remixes that pay homage and add something entirely new to some of our favorite EDM tracks that haven’t had proper “vocal versions” before. Like our album “Midnight Insight” before it, “Versus” tells a story. Think of each song as a chapter describing a few days in the life of a thief who is making a go at something extraordinary. We decided to pull a Tarantino and begin our story at the end. “Lines Drawn” is the closing chapter, followed by “Steal the Earth”, the true starting line to our story. We’ve been releasing these remixes individually as we’ve finished them, but putting them out collectively on this mixtape has always been the long-term plan. Versus Vol. II will take the opposite approach by including 5 remixes of other artists’ vocals on top of our beats. We’ve got another remix for you, friends! This one goes back a few years but it’s still fresh as hell. The vocals come from a guy who’s got an obvious Michael Jackson influence, both in his singing style and his career path in the music industry, since the two of them came up as kids in manufactured groups and later went on to become genuine artists as adults.

Now, Justin Timberlake does not have the catalog of hits that MJ does, but some of his tracks are LEGIT and that’s why his song “Lovestoned” is the basis of our latest. Even if you’re not a fan of JT, give this a listen because the new sound that we’ve crafted around his voice has a feel that can’t be found on any of our other remixes. The bridge, specifically, will move your feet in a special way – it’s the best possible payoff for everything that precedes it. Seriously.

David Guetta is a legend. Avicii has the hottest track in EDM right now. What you get when you bring the two of them together is something unforgettable: a track they call “Sunshine” and we’ve chosen it as the basis for our 4th vocal remix.

Without a doubt this is one of the strongest tracks we’ve released to date and you guys have been incredible in your show of support for it already. We love all forms of EDM: House, Techno, Dubstep and all things in between, but Trance is a genre that we haven’t yet shown our appreciation for through our remixes, so let’s correct that, shall we? One of our favorite Trance artists of all time are London based Above & Beyond who have been at it for more than a decade. They just released a brilliant new album last year called “Group Therapy” and we’ve been inspired to put the NU.F.O. spin on the single “You Got to Go” which we’re releasing today! 😀

We’ve taken the vocals from this beautiful track and crafted completely original sounds to support them, as you’ve heard us do before with Kesha and Lupe Fiasco. It’s incredibly challenging to completely rewrite a song within the confines of pre-written vocals, but we love a challenge. Especially when the vocals are as powerful as Zoë Johnston’s are on this track.

Major site updates!  We’ve revamped the side-bar to include a featured release section and a dedicated downloads page.  The downloads just got ALL pumped full of goodies.  In addition to the debut album and remixes, it now has instrumental mixes of all the album tracks as well as remix stem packs for everything we’ve put out so far.  All of you aspiring DJ’s/Producers that have been hitting us up for those, rejoice- you can now remix our music and vocals cleanly and in total control.  We offer the stems for use freely, just please give us credit if you do and hit us up, we love hearing what you come up with!

Moving forward, in addition to the track releases, we’ll keep the page updated with the appropriate instrumentals and stems as we drop new tuneage.  We also plan to include some wallpapers, phone screen savers and more, so keep checking back.

Now that the stems are all up, we will be announcing the Midnight Insight remix contest soon!
