You guys may very well be familiar with The Bolivian Marching Affair (TBMA for short) by now, as they lent their dubstep prowess to our “Midnight Remixed” EP with their re-imagining of our track Above the Surface. Not long after we released that, they hit us up out of the blue looking to see if we’d be interested to write vocals for an electro remix that Dallas Cornell did of their track, Escape Reality. We checked out the track and hopped on board. The catch was that we had less than 2 weeks from hearing this track for the first time to write and produce the vocals, track them and then mix and master the track. Haha, a lot to cram in but we banged it out; we enjoy working under the pressure! 🙂 We’re excited on how it all came together and thus, the first track for Versus Volume III was born. We have been spending ours hard at work in the studio wrapping up all the loose ends on this EP and we’re proud to say it’s finally done and delivered as promised! As we mentioned, this is a 5-song EP remixing tracks originally released on our debut album “Midnight Insight” featuring remixes by TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair), St^tion, HPV (Headphones Vocal), The Pulse Odyssey and one of our very own. So it’s been over a month since we last posted which only eludes to one thing: We’ve been busy as FUCK. 😉 For those of you who don’t follow us on social media, we took the studio with us and spent a week locked away in an amazing house surrounded by the ocean in Mattituck, NY to begin tracking our sophomore record. We left at the end of the week with about 3 full songs musically and a ton of pre-pro vocals tracked. It’s ridiculously hard not to drop any audio hints at any of these news sounds because evolution is an understatement. HOWEVER, you WILL get to hear a taste of the direction we are going on the Midnight Remixed EP we are about to release. This 5-song EP is remixing tracks from our debut original record “Midnight Insight”. 4 of the remixes will come from other artists, but one will be from us and that is where you will hear the evolution of our sound that has taken place over the last year.

We expect to have this remix EP ready for release within a couple weeks but to tide you over until then, we present to you one of the tracks; a monster dubstep remix of our track “Above the Surface” by Play Me Records’ and Boston’s own TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair). We just passed our 1-year anniversary of officially becoming known to the world and looking back on that journey brings ear to ear smiles to our faces. We are incredibly humbled by the tens of thousands of people we’ve reached and made connections with through our music; you guys are truly fucking amazing and the only way we know how to show our thanks and appreciation is to keep pumping out free tracks for you to rage to!! 😀

That brings us to today and we have some exciting stuff to share…

So we’ve been dropping tracks like crazy, 19 since last August, and we don’t intend to slow down despite the recent lag over the past month. The reason is that we’ve been buttoning things up for 2 new 5-song EP’s! The first is going to be “Midnight Remixed” which will feature 5 remixes of tracks from our debut record Midnight Insight. 4 are coming from other artists such as Play Me Records’ & Boston’s own TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair) and we are doing one as well. The remixes we’ve already gotten back SLAM and we can’t wait to share with you. After that comes Versus Vol. II which will be the opposite of Volume I in that the first was all vocal remixes and these will all be acapella instrumental remixes, some of which you may have already heard from us and some new.

We’re truly stoked to be releasing these 2 EP’s but what we are MOST excited to share is that in the last week of July, we will be heading back to where we were on vacation and the idea of NU.F.O. was born: in Long Island, NY. We’re mobilizing the studio and moving it to an obscenely awesome house on the water to “dive into” our second original album (pun intended ;)). We’re anxious to write some new stuff from scratch and especially with all the new influence and production toys we’ve acquired since the last album. We promise this one is going to be a monster! You’ll be able to hear a sample of what we’re talking about when you hear our new remix for the Midnight Remixed EP.

Again, we cannot express enough gratitude for all the new friends we’ve made, support we’ve received and we look forward to the next year with you friends, old and new.
